What is Streetlifting?
Streetlifting is a strength sport that blends weighted calisthenics with powerlifting principles, focusing on both relative strength (strength-to-bodyweight ratio) and absolute strength (total weight lifted). Athletes perform fundamental bodyweight movements—such as pull-ups and dips—while adding external weight to push their limits. The goal is to lift the heaviest weight possible while maintaining strict form and control.
What makes streetlifting unique is its emphasis on relative strength—athletes must not only lift heavy but do so efficiently in relation to their body weight. A lighter athlete who can lift an impressive amount relative to their size is just as competitive as a heavier athlete moving massive loads. At the same time, absolute strength plays a key role, as competitions often focus on who can lift the most total weight, regardless of body weight.
Rooted in the street workout and calisthenics community, streetlifting tests raw power, endurance, and technical skill. Competitions typically include weighted pull-ups and dips, with some formats also featuring muscle-ups or squats. This sport bridges the gap between bodyweight mastery and brute strength, challenging athletes to develop explosive power and elite-level conditioning.
Streetlifting is rapidly gaining global recognition as one of the purest tests of functional strength. Whether in the gym, the park, or on the competition stage, it represents the relentless pursuit of progress, power, and peak performance.
